Independent Energy Solutions to Install Photovoltaics (PV) System at Stone Brewing Co.
VISTA, CALIFORNIA (May 6, 2013) – Independent Energy Solutions, Inc. (IES) is proud to announce a partnership with Stone Brewing Co. for a grid-tied 360 kW solar power system on the new Stone Packaging Hall in Escondido, California. IES’ locally based workforce will design and install the roof-mounted PV array, helping Stone to produce clean, renewable power while preserving the unique aesthetics of the existing grounds. The estimated energy production in the first year exceeds 534,000 kilowatt hours (kWh). Over the course of 25 years, the system is expected to produce nearly 12.3 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 9.6 tons. This is the equivalent of planting roughly 165 acres of trees. “Stone Brewing Co. has become synonymous with the entrepreneurial identity of San Diego,” said Linda Strand, President of IES. “Both Stone and IES are San Diego-based businesses that have established benchmark standards for our customers. It is an honor to collaborate with Stone on their new PV system as they expand to meet both the needs of our community and their goal of creating a renewable, sustainable business.” “Stone Brewing Co. is dedicated to sustainable practices, and committed to using renewable energy to produce power for our new packaging facility,” said Steve Wagner, co-founder and president of Stone Brewing Co. “Partnering with IES has allowed us to achieve this goal and stay true to our core value by taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint.” IES anticipates completion of the Stone installation in June 2013. Independent Energy Solutions to Install Photovoltaics System at High Tech High
VISTA, CALIFORNIA (May 25, 2012)- Independent Energy Solutions, Inc. (IES) today announced it has been contracted by High Tech High to install a comprehensive photovoltaic solution for the San Marcos campus. The project features a custom-engineered carport system capable of supporting a 56 kilowatt DC system while shading 26 vehicles. Estimated energy production in the first year will exceed 84,000 kilowatt hours. Using solar power instead of conventional power reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 1,500 tons over the next 25 years, which is the environmental equivalent of 200,000 miles not driven each year.
According to Christopher Gerber, Director of Facilities for the High Tech High organization, “After developing numerous utility-owned projects on our campuses, we are excited to be working with IES to develop the first PV project under High Tech High ownership. IES has designed a reliable, expandable, cost-effective system to offset more than 50% of the school’s energy needs on a net annualized basis, lowering our operating costs long-term, and reducing inflationary risk.”
IES expects to break ground at the HTH North County campus in June 2012, with completion anticipated in August 2012.
Located in San Marcos, California, High Tech High North County is a public charter school with the mission to prepare a diverse range of students for postsecondary education, citizenship and leadership in the increasingly technological and interconnected world.
